The Model Y ranked first with 23,117 units, followed by the Li ONE with 13,485 units and the Mercedes-Benz GLC with 12,269 units. The Nio ES6 ranked eighth with 4,713 units.

Tesla has sold out of available capacity for the entry-level Model Y in China this year, and the start of deliveries of the Model Y Performance will help increase its sales and average price in the Chinese market.

The Model Y Performance is priced at RMB 387,900 ($60,750) in China, which is RMB 111,900 more than the price of the entry-level Model Y.

The entry-level Model Y sold in China now has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.9 seconds, compared to the previous 5.6 seconds.

This may dampen some enthusiasm for it, as there is a risk that current orders will not be delivered before the Chinese New Year holiday.

Tesla Model Y sold 13,303 units in China in October, and Model 3 sold 422 units.

Users will have to purchase the Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving packages to use the feature.
