- This comes just two weeks after the Datang SUV began pre-sales on April 24.
- The Datang SUV has a starting pre-sales price of 250,000 yuan ($36,750) and offers a range of up to 950 kilometers.

BYD (HKG: 1211) has seen pre-orders for its latest flagship SUV, the Datang, surpass 100,000 units, indicating the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker's growing appeal in the premium market.
Lu Tian, general manager of the sales division for BYD's Dynasty lineup, disclosed the sales milestone in a Weibo post published on Thursday.
He said that this defines the flagship standard for full-size SUVs and anticipated further growth in the future.
The D-segment all-electric SUV began pre-sales on the first day of the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, with a pre-sales price range of 250,000 yuan ($36,750) to 320,000 yuan.
The model's pre-orders rapidly breached the 30,000-unit mark within the first 24 hours of pre-sales, according to data previously announced by Lu.
The Datang SUV is expected to officially launch and begin deliveries in the first half of this year.
The model is equipped with BYD's latest second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology, with its all-electric version achieving a record maximum range of 950 kilometers.
The vehicle adopts a 1,000-volt high-voltage architecture and features megawatt-level flash charging technology. Paired with a 1,000-ampere charging current, it can achieve a peak charging power of up to 1,000 kilowatts.
The Datang SUV measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm.
The interior features China's first 2+2+3 large seven-seat layout, focusing on a spacious seating capacity.
Its cabin is equipped with a 3-nanometer cockpit chip and a 27-speaker Devialet audio system.
The Datang SUV offers powertrain options including single motor and dual-motor four-wheel drive, with the four-wheel-drive version capable of accelerating from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.9 seconds.
For the chassis, it utilizes the DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension and is equipped with a crab-walk mode as well as a rear-wheel steering system.
Strong pre-orders for the Datang SUV are expected to help BYD achieve a further recovery in sales.
The company sold 321,123 NEVs in April, a 15.51% year-on-year decline, marking the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year decline, although sales increased by 6.96% compared to March.
In the first four months of this year, BYD Group's cumulative NEV sales totaled 1,021,586 units, a 26.02% year-on-year decline. This reflects the widespread pressure on the Chinese auto market caused by the off-season at the beginning of the year.
