Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) is significantly expanding its product lineup, filing for multiple new models including the G9L, L05, and L03 with Chinese regulators.

The filed models include battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, continuing the company's dual-powertrain strategy.

The G9L is a large SUV (sport utility vehicle) measuring 5,120 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,782 to 1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm, according to a regulatory catalog published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Saturday.

The G9L BEV offers single-motor and dual-motor options, with the dual-motor version featuring peak front and rear motor power of 160 kW and 270 kW, respectively. The single-motor version has a single 270 kW motor.

The G9L BEV will be equipped with ternary lithium batteries or lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CALB.

The G9L EREV is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine supplied by Harbin Dongan Auto Engine, which has a maximum power of 110 kW and serves as a generator.

The L05 is a mid-size SUV and is expected to be a new model in Xpeng's Mona lineup.

It measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,636 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm.

The L05 BEV is powered by a drive motor with a peak power of 183 kW and is equipped with LFP batteries produced by CALB.

The L05 EREV uses a 1.5-liter engine supplied by Seres subsidiary Chongqing Xiaokang Power, with a power output of 70 kW. It is equipped with batteries supplied by Eve Energy.

Xpeng also filed for the EREV version of the L03 SUV. This compact SUV has a length of 4,650 mm and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The L03 EREV adopts the same powertrain as the L05 EREV, also featuring the engine from Chongqing Xiaokang Power and batteries from Eve Energy.

Last month, the BEV version of the L03 entered the MIIT's filing catalog, equipped with a drive motor supplied by Luxshare that can output a peak power of 183 kW.

Xpeng is actively embracing extended-range technology to alleviate consumers' range anxiety. This strategy has previously proven highly successful for its domestic rivals, including Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI).

The company hopes the new L03 and L05 models in the Mona lineup can replicate the success of the Mona M03 sedan.

The M03 currently starts at 119,800 yuan ($17,616) and delivered over 175,000 units throughout 2025, accounting for nearly 41% of Xpeng's total deliveries during the same period.

Xpeng's current flagship SUV is the G9, which is available only as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The company is set to launch its new flagship SUV, the GX, soon; pre-orders for the model began last month.

These new SUV models are expected to be officially launched later this year, which will help Xpeng capture a larger share in the highly competitive mass market.
