Sales in China's new energy passenger car market were muted in October, with leading manufacturers struggling to maintain growth, the CPCA said.

That's up 31.83 percent from 54,391 units a year ago, but down 13.75 percent from 83,135 units in September.

BYD sold 103,157 all-electric passenger cars and 114,361 plug-in hybrids in October.

Deutsche Bank analyst Edison Yu's team expects several new product cycles to drive sales up in November and December, and sales should also broadly benefit from NEV subsidies that expire at the end of the year.

This is the third consecutive month that AITO has delivered more than 10,000 vehicles, bringing cumulative deliveries since March to 57,777.

This was up 22.27 percent from 8,276 units in September and up from 199 units in the month of the first deliveries last October.
