BYD at 35,006 units, Tesla at 15,856 units, Li Auto at 2,628 units, Xpeng at 1,775 units and Nio at 1,745 units.

BYD's insurance registrations in China for the second week of September were 31,000, with 18,000 for Tesla and 1,613 for Nio.

This means that Zeekr has delivered more than 2,795 Zeekr 001 vehicles so far this month.

In terms of wholesale sales, China's new energy passenger vehicle penetration rate reached a record 30.1 percent in August, the first time it exceeded 30 percent.

Tesla China exported 42,463 vehicles in August, the highest since production began at Tesla's Shanghai plant. This means Chinese consumers received deliveries of 34,502 vehicles.

This would include 6.99 million BEVs and 3.37 million PHEVs, according to a team of local analysts.

Nio continued to outsell its local counterpart Xpeng and Li Auto in the first week of September, as deliveries of its new models began to see a steady rise.

It's a BYD Song Plus DM-i, and the family of models is BYD's best-selling, and China's best-selling SUV model.

Despite China's policy of halving purchase taxes on mainstream ICEvehicles, the momentum driving growth in the NEV market is strong, the CPCA said.
