Baidu's Apollo Go continues to solidify its global leadership position, despite Covid's resurgence in China posing a challenge to local companies' operations.

Jidu said its robot car design is inspired by spaceships, with advanced self-driving capabilities and an ultra-intelligent cockpit.

Although the service is limited to a small area of Beijing, it represents a dramatic shift in regulators' attitude toward the sector.

Unlike other automakers currently using one autonomous driving solution, Jidu is developing two separate systems, pure vision and LiDAR, that serve as backups for each other.

Baidu will use ANP 3.0 in production cars in July 2023, and the first model to use it will be Jidu's.

BYD has selected Baidu as its smart driving supplier, which will provide BYD with ANP smart driving products and human-machine co-driving maps, local media reported.
