Nio is showing its full range of vehicles at the Chengdu auto show, including the ET5. It also brought a battery swap station with a transparent bottom.

The Nio ET5 will have up to nine body color options, with pink and yellow being exclusive to the model.

Chengdu Motor Show will be the second major auto show of the year after Auto Shenzhen, and Nio is likely to reveal the interior of ET5 at that time.

BYD's new energy passenger car offerings are expected to go on sale and be delivered in Europe in the fourth quarter, the company said, without revealing exactly which models.

Deliveries of the Nio ET5 are expected to begin in September, and the model's first tooling trial builds rolled off the production line at the end of April.

This is another high-profile protest at an auto show after a female owner protested at the Tesla booth during the Shanghai auto show in late April last year.

In the meantime, BYD's stock traded in Shenzhen is getting closer to its all-time high.

The Nio ET7, ET5, ES8, ES6, EC6, and the all-electric supercar EP9 are all on display at the show.

Auto Shenzhen 2022 will officially open at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday, May 28 and run through June 5.

The event's organizing committee did not provide a new date, saying only that the exact date will be announced in the future.
