BYD will launch its premium brand in the first half of next year, and the first model will be a hardcore crossover priced at around RMB 500,000 to RMB 1 million, local media said.

BYD expects to sell 600,000 pure-play EVs and 500,000-600,000 plug-in hybrids next year, corresponding to a market share of about 25 percent in China.

Niutron, the new energy vehicle brand founded by Niu Technologies founder Li Yinan, is expected to be officially launched on December 15.

That's partly because BYD Semiconductor's production capacity is really tight, and partly because it's trying to cut back its affiliate deals with BYD Group.

The project, which includes an electric assembly plant, motor plant and electric control plant, is expected to be completed by 2024.

This is BYD's monthly sales data, including new energy vehicles, fuel vehicles, and power battery installations.

The all-electric compact car, which looks a bit like the Honda Fit, has accumulated sales of 19,582 units since its launch in August.

This is the third consecutive month that the Han family has sold more than 10,000 units, with cumulative sales of 144,520 units since its launch in July last year.

BYD sold 46,137 pure electric passenger cars and 43,984 plug-in hybrids in November.

A report earlier today said Toyota will launch an all-electric compact car in China in April next year that will use BYD's core technologies.
