Recent rumors suggest that the new car will go into production at Giga Shanghai, will be powered by BYD's blade battery and will begin road test by the end of 2022.

Tesla is offering a limited edition of 3,000 charging packages priced at about $67, allowing users unlimited use between January 26 and February 8 in China.

Longi is the world's largest photovoltaic company by market capitalization, and it actually has some competition with Tesla in its field.

If December sales were 60,000 units, Tesla China would have sold 167,250 units in the fourth quarter, accounting for 54 percent of its global deliveries.

The delivery figure was well above analysts' expectations of 263,000 vehicles.
