GAC Aion received orders for more than 18,000 units in August, another record high, the company claimed.

The Neta V is priced between RMB 59,900 ($9,390) and RMB 75,900, and the Neta U Pro has a guide price between RMB 99,800 and 159,800 after subsidies.

Nio said that if supply chain problems do not worsen further, September deliveries could set another monthly delivery record.

Shanghai produced 228,000 new energy vehicles in the first half of this year, up 220 percent year-over-year and accounting for more than one-sixth of China's total production.

The five cities with the highest share of Nio ES6 insurance registrations in July were Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shenzhen, with a combined share of 46.4 percent.

By the end of June, Shanghai had 513,000 new energy vehicles, of which 235,000 were pure electric vehicles.
