Every company has a different position and path, and what Tesla is doing may not be right for Nio, according to William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of the Chinese electric car company.

Construction of Nio's second plant has entered the construction bidding stage, a month after a tender notice for clearing the land for the plant was issued.

Jefferies called Nio "China's icon for luxury BEVs," saying investors' expectations are high given the company's new model and better introduction during Nio Day earlier this month.

The amount was raised because of the exercise in full by the initial purchasers in their option to purchase up to an additional $100 million in the 2026 notes and $100 million in the 2027 notes.

BYD is the Chinese new energy vehicle company with the most valid patents, and Nio is the most of the three US-listed Chinese EV makers - Nio, Li Auto and Xpeng Motors, according to a recent report.

Qin mentioned the construction schedule of the second-generation battery swap station, the plan to enter overseas markets, and the development of NAD (Nio Autonomous Driving).

Qin said that the current factor that may limit the further popularity of EVs is the construction of public infrastructure.

If Nio enters overseas markets, its first stop could be Norway, the first country in the world where electric vehicles account for more than 50% of new car sales.

This feature provides the possibility for Nio to bring the battery swap model to developed markets in Europe and the United States, he said.

Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng are building autonomous driving R&D systems, rather than leaving their fate in the hands of Mobileye.
