In April 2026, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) market continued to present a complex and volatile competitive landscape.

Below is a summary of the delivery volumes of major automakers in April 2026:

BYD

BYD sold 321,123 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in April, a 6.96% increase from March. However, this marks the company's eighth consecutive month of year-on-year sales decline, with a drop of 15.51%.

Its overseas business performed well, with April overseas shipments exceeding 134,000 units — a significant year-on-year increase of 70.9% and a new record high.

The sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao delivered an impressive performance, with monthly sales reaching 29,138 units — a 190.25% year-on-year increase and a 12.39% rise from March.

Nio management expects that with the official launch and delivery of these new models, the company's delivery volumes will see a steady rebound in May and June.

The highly anticipated high-performance pure electric SUV model YU7 GT will be officially released in late May. Positioned as a pure-blooded GT, the model is equipped with a dual-motor system with a comprehensive maximum power of up to 738 kW, and is expected to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of nearly 2 seconds.
