Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand under Geely Auto, set a new delivery record last month, signaling that its sales momentum remains robust.
The brand delivered a total of 31,787 new vehicles in April, surging 131.57% year-on-year and rising 8.42% from the previous month, according to data released on Friday.
This strong monthly performance pushed Zeekr's total deliveries for the first four months of the year to 108,824 units, a year-on-year increase of 97.4%.
As of the end of April, Zeekr's cumulative deliveries reached 751,713 units.
The robust growth in April deliveries was mainly driven by its premium product matrix, with the Zeekr 9X standing out.
Deliveries of the Zeekr 9X large hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV) exceeded 10,000 units again in April, with an average transaction price of over 530,000 yuan ($77,610) per vehicle, Zeekr said.
As Zeekr's first hybrid SUV, the 9X has topped the sales chart for large SUVs in the 500,000 yuan segment for five consecutive months, it added.
The Zeekr 8X, launched on April 17, has become a new growth engine, delivering nearly 3,500 units in 13 days on the market, according to Zeekr.
Among the orders for the Zeekr 8X, the higher-priced Ultra and above premium trims accounted for a staggering 95.6%.
While maintaining rapid sales growth, Zeekr has sustained a high product premium, with its average transaction price per vehicle nearing 350,000 yuan.
In addition, Zeekr's shooting brake family secured over 10,000 new firm orders in April, the company said.
Zeekr launched the updated 007 series on April 10, including the revamped Zeekr 007 sedan and the updated 007 GT shooting brake, upgrading features while lowering prices to boost sales.
At the time, it also rolled out the Zeekr 001 shooting brake's fifth-anniversary edition, which can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.91 seconds.
Zeekr is currently accelerating its globalization strategy. Geely Auto Group CEO Jerry Gan said at an earnings briefing on Wednesday that the Zeekr 9X will first be exported to the Middle East market in June, with plans to enter Central Asia in the third quarter.
By the fourth quarter, the Zeekr 9X will enter the European market, Gan said.
He also noted that the Zeekr 8X will enter overseas markets in the fourth quarter.
