Nio Inc continued to see year-on-year growth in deliveries last month, despite a sequential decline.
The company delivered 29,356 vehicles in April, achieving a 22.83% year-on-year increase, according to figures released on Friday.
However, this represented a 17.27% drop from the 35,486 units delivered in March, highlighting the persistent headwinds facing the Chinese auto industry.

The family-oriented Onvo sub-brand contributed 5,352 deliveries, up 21.64% from a year earlier, but down 22.18% from March.
The Firefly sub-brand delivered 4,980 vehicles in April, surging more than 20-fold year-on-year, though it slipped 18.61% from March. Firefly began its first deliveries on April 29, 2025.
The third-generation Nio ES8 SUV (sport utility vehicle) remained the core sales driver, with 13,020 units delivered in April.
The model contributed 44.35% of Nio Inc's total deliveries for the month, and 68.44% of the Nio brand's volume, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
To counter the sequential sales decline, Nio is accelerating its intensive new product launch plan.
The company rolled out the ES8 Mirrorblack Edition on April 24, the first day of the Beijing auto show, with a starting price of 456,800 yuan ($66,900).
It opened pre-sales for the Onvo L80 large five-seat SUV on April 28 at a price of 245,800 yuan. The new model will officially launch on May 15 and is seen as key to reversing the sales curve.
The company debuted its new flagship SUV, the Nio ES9, on April 9 and began pre-sales with a starting price of 528,000 yuan, including the battery pack.
The official launch of the Nio ES9 is expected in late May, with initial customer deliveries slated to begin on June 1.
Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li expects these new models to drive steady growth in deliveries in May and June.
In the first four months of 2026, Nio Inc delivered a cumulative 112,821 vehicles, representing a 70.96% year-on-year increase.
The company targets a 40-50% delivery growth for the full year of 2026, after delivering 326,028 vehicles in 2025.
