The penetration rate of NEVs in wholesale sales in February was 21.8 percent, up 12.2 percentage points from 9.6 percent in February 2021.

This includes 33,315 vehicles exported and 23,200 vehicles delivered by Tesla in China in February.

BJEV produced 653 units in February, up 83.6 percent from 323 units in the same month last year. In the first two months, the company produced 1,684 units.

This was up 57.2 percent from 6,522 in the same month last year, but down 34 percent from 15,536 in January.

Geely sold 12,239 BEVs including battery swap-enabled models in February, up 1,430 percent from 800 in the same month last year.

This is down 8.3 percent from 3,520 units in January. The first AITO M5 vehicles, jointly built by Huawei and Sokon, will be delivered in Shanghai on March 5.

February is traditionally a slow month for car sales, and BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series models have seen price increases since February 1.

BYD sold 43,173 all-electric passenger vehicles and 44,300 plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles in February.

This was down 37.3 percent from 72,236 units in January and accounted for 14 percent of the group's sales of all models in February.

That's down 46.8 percent from 16,031 units in January, which the company blamed on the Chinese New Year holiday and the impact of capacity expansion at its plant.
