The CAAM said China's NEV sales are expected to reach 5.5 million units in 2022, up 56 percent year-on-year.

Tesla Model Y retail sales in China in June were 52,150 units, well above the second place BYD Song's 31,787 units.

This represents an increase of about 135 percent over the 33,155 units sold in the same month last year and a 143 percent increase over the 32,165 units sold in May.

From January to June, BJEV sold 17,010 units, up 144.43 percent from 6,959 units in the same period last year.
