Battery Swap

The battery swap station takes up the area of the parking space needed for two Baojun E200s, which measurs just 2,497*1,526*1,616 mm.

Nio announced on September 16 that it has completed a network of battery swap stations in highway service areas from Beijing to all major neighboring cities.

CnEVPost's data tracker shows that Nio has also put four supercharging stations and three destination charging stations into operation today.

Nio and Sinopec will soon partner to build the first local battery swap station in a highway service area in Guangxi, and will build a new battery swap station in another local city, Guilin.

Officials from China's top economic planner, the National Development and Reform Commission, recently researched the "battery swap model" of new energy vehicles and its application in Beijing.

GAC Group is actively exploring the adoption of battery swap on more or even all of its new models, the company's general manager Feng Xingya said.

The percentage increased by 3.48 percentage points from 30.86 percent at the end of July and by 14.02 percentage points from 20.32 percent at the end of January.

As of September 3, Nio has 428 battery swap stations, 291 supercharging stations, 499 destination charging stations, and access to over 400,000 third-party charging piles.

Since last year, Nio and the city of Hefei have been working together to build battery swap facilities and plan to add 20 new ones within two years.

Sinopec said the two companies will cooperate in charging & battery swap station construction, brand marketing, materials, and battery asset operation.
