Warren Buffett-backed Chinese electric car company BYD sold 25,662 new energy vehicles in April, up 6% from March and up 97% year-on-year.

The first and second phases of BYD's power battery production base will have a combined annual capacity of 35GWh at full capacity.

Toyota will only be responsible for accepting the vehicles and putting the Toyota logo on the new vehicles. The new car has already started road tests, the report said.

Wang Chuanfu, BYD's founder and chairman of the board, said the company's electric vehicle models will all use blade batteries, and all batteries will be tested with pinpricks.

It's worth noting that BYD Han includes the all-electric Han EV as well as the hybrid Han DM, and the sales figures include both models.

In the first two months of the year, the Han EV ranked third in the number of new private EVs insured in China, behind the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and the Tesla Model 3.

The BYD Yuan Pro electric vehicle went on sale on March 21, priced at RMB 121,300 ($18,638) and RMB 131,400 after subsidies for both models.

The app is linked to BYD's cloud services account and integrates features of BYD's existing products, including cloud services, user community, and online mall.

BYD's battery arm FinDreams Battery is preparing to build its first overseas battery factory, an internal job posting recently showed.
