Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), will start pre-sales for its updated L60 SUV (sport utility vehicle) at the upcoming 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show (Shenzhen auto show).
William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of Nio, revealed the plan on Friday at the ongoing launch event of the L80 large five-seater SUV.
Li did not provide a specific date for the start of pre-sales, but it is expected to take place on the first day of the Shenzhen Auto Show, which opens on May 29.
The move highlights Nio's efforts to keep its products fresh in China's highly competitive EV market. The official launch of the updated L60 is expected in June.
The revamped Onvo L60 will receive a major hardware upgrade. It will add a version equipped with a LiDAR sensor, which will be paired with Nio's in-house developed Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip.
This is in line with the strategy of the recently launched 2026 Onvo L90 and the new L80 model to offer more flexibility.
The upcoming Shenzhen Auto Show will run from May 29 to June 7. It is China's next major auto industry event following the record-breaking Beijing Auto Show.
Onvo is intensively expanding its product lineup to maintain delivery growth. The brand delivered 5,352 vehicles in April this year, an increase of 21.64% from the same period last year.
The previously announced pre-sales price of the Onvo L80 is 245,800 yuan ($36,189). Its final price is expected to be slightly lower.
The model is designed to meet family travel needs and offers two versions: pure vision and LiDAR-equipped.
Li previously expected that the L80 and the upcoming new flagship SUV ES9 under the Nio brand will drive steady growth in near-term deliveries.
