- The new L60 will add a LiDAR-equipped option and feature Nio's in-house developed Shenji NX9031 chip.
- Onvo just began deliveries of the 2026 L90 last week and is set to launch the new Onvo L80 SUV on May 15.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) is pressing ahead with an intensive new product launch schedule, finalizing the launch arrangements for the updated L60 as deliveries of the revamped L90 SUV (sport utility vehicle) just began and the new L80 is set to hit the market later this week.
Onvo will hold a pre-sales launch event for the facelifted Onvo L60 in late May, with its official launch scheduled for June.
Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li revealed the latest product roadmap on Sunday during a live-streamed event in Dunhuang, Gansu province in northwest China.
Consistent with other models under the Onvo brand, the facelifted Onvo L60 will add a version equipped with a LiDAR sensor, Li said.
The move marks the continuation of the Nio sub-brand's strategy to offer more flexible product options: making Onvo models available in both versions equipped with LiDAR and versions with pure vision-based driver assistance that do not include the sensor.
The L60 midsize SUV is Onvo's first model, originally launched on September 19, 2024. On September 19, 2025 — marking the one-year anniversary of the L60's launch — Onvo rolled out the SUV's most recent major update.
A key focus of this L60 upgrade also includes the integration of Nio's in-house developed Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip, according to Li.
The 2026 Onvo L90, which just began deliveries last week, is already equipped with the Shenji NX9031, and the new Onvo L80 SUV launching on May 15 will also offer an option featuring the new chip.
The L90 three-row SUV is Onvo's second model, initially launched on July 31, 2025. The 2026 L90 hit the market on April 21 this year. The L80 is essentially a five-seat version of the L90 with identical dimensions.
The facelifted L60 entered the regulatory filing catalog of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in March, revealing the addition of the LiDAR sensor.
Onvo is intensively expanding its product lineup to navigate industry headwinds and maintain steady growth in vehicle deliveries.
The Nio sub-brand delivered a total of 5,352 vehicles in April this year, up 21.64% from a year earlier, but down 22.18% from March.
Prior to Li's live-streamed event in Dunhuang, Nio's upcoming flagship SUV, the ES9, arrived in the city on Sunday morning around 10 am, completing a major long-distance performance test.
The ES9 challenge vehicle completed a 10,000-kilometer continuous driving challenge in a record-breaking time of 94 hours, 19 minutes, and 11 seconds, shattering the previous record for pure electric vehicles set by the Onvo L60.
The success of this challenge relied on Nio's extensive battery swap network infrastructure. Nio also announced on Sunday that the 1,739-kilometer battery swap route along the Hexi Corridor section of the Silk Road has been officially fully connected.
The Nio ES9 will open for test drives in China on May 11, and the flagship SUV is scheduled to officially launch on May 27, with deliveries starting on the same day.
