- The Onvo L80 features up to 2,840 liters of total storage space, claiming to be the five-seat SUV with the largest cargo capacity in China.
- The new model is part of Nio's intensive product launch strategy aimed at countering industry headwinds and sustaining delivery growth.

Nio Inc's sub-brand Onvo is highlighting the massive storage space of its upcoming L80 SUV, just days before the model's official debut and pre-sales launch on April 28.
Onvo said on Sunday that the L80 offers up to 2,840 liters of total storage space, making it the five-seat SUV with the largest cargo capacity in China.
This includes a 240-liter frunk, the largest among mass-produced vehicles in China, which can accommodate two 20-inch suitcases, one children's suitcase, and a backpack.
This design systematically prevents frequently used miscellaneous items from encroaching on passenger seating space, Onvo said.
Under normal conditions, the L80's trunk provides a volume of 1,200 liters. When the second-row seats are completely folded down, the space expands to 2,600 liters with a depth of 2.2 meters.
This expanded space can easily accommodate a two-meter bed, according to Onvo.
The vehicle also features a dual-sunken storage area in the trunk and 53 independent storage spaces throughout the cabin.
The five-seat SUV measures 5,145 millimeters in length with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Onvo said that through technological innovation, the model achieves a space utilization rate of up to 81.5%.
The roll-out of the L80 is a key component of Nio Inc's strategy to navigate industry headwinds in the second quarter. The company is relying on an intensive new product launch schedule to maintain sales momentum.
On April 24, the first day of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li announced that Onvo will hold a technology launch event for the L80 on April 28, at which time pre-sales will begin.
Onvo just launched the 2026 L90 SUV on April 21, continuing to offer six- and seven-seat options with an unchanged starting price of 265,800 yuan ($38,880).
The updated L90 is equipped for the first time with Nio's in-house developed Shenji NX9031 chip and adds LiDAR to enhance smart driving capabilities. It will begin deliveries on May 9.
Another model under the Nio sub-brand is the L60, a five-seat mid-size sport utility vehicle similar in size to Tesla's Model Y.
Li recently said that the Onvo L80 and the upcoming ES9 flagship SUV are expected to drive steady delivery growth in May and June.
Nio also introduced the ES8 Mirrorblack Edition at the Beijing Auto Show, with a starting price of 456,800 yuan.
