- The Nio ES8 Mirrorblack Edition starts at 456,800 yuan ($66,820) including the battery pack, which is 12.29% higher than the regular ES8.
- The Chinese EV maker is accelerating its new product launches to navigate industry headwinds and maintain sales growth momentum.

Nio Inc launched the Mirrorblack Edition of its third-generation ES8 SUV at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, while announcing that it will debut the Onvo L80 five-seat SUV on April 28 and begin its pre-sales at that time.
The ES8 Mirrorblack Edition starts at 456,800 yuan ($66,820) including the battery pack, which is 50,000 yuan, or 12.29%, higher than the regular ES8's 406,800 yuan.
Chinese customers can also opt for the BaaS (battery as a service) plan, lowering the starting price to 348,800 yuan, with a monthly rental fee of 1,128 yuan for the 102-kWh battery pack.
The ES8 Mirrorblack Edition features a "polar night black" exterior and is equipped with a five-layer metal chrome finish that presents a dark gold luster.
The move is aimed at maintaining the market sales momentum of the high-margin ES8, as well as expanding the potential user base through more personalized configurations.
On Thursday, just before the auto show opened, Nio delivered its 100,000th third-generation ES8, seven months after its launch in September 2025.
The commercial success of the third-generation ES8 has been a key factor driving Nio's recent financial turnaround. Strong delivery performance helped the company achieve its first-ever quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2025.
In addition to the ES8 Mirrorblack Edition, Nio announced today that its sub-brand Onvo will hold a technology launch event for the new L80 five-seat SUV on April 28, when pre-sales will also begin.
Previous regulatory filings indicate that the L80 is a five-seat version of the currently available L90.
Just three days ago on April 21, Onvo launched the 2026 L90, continuing to offer six- and seven-seat options with an unchanged starting price of 265,800 yuan.
To navigate industry headwinds in the second quarter, Nio is relying on an intensive roll-out of new products.
Nio founder, chairman and CEO William Li recently said that the Onvo L80 and the upcoming ES9 flagship SUV are expected to drive steady growth in deliveries for May and June.
The 2026 Beijing Auto Show, which opened today, marks the first time Nio has showcased its three major brands together. The Nio, Onvo and Firefly brands are displaying a total of 11 models on the same stand.
