Two spy photos of Onvo's third model, L80, have been widely circulated in China today, showing what the SUV (sport utility vehicle) looks like.

The vehicle was tightly wrapped in camouflage, but overall it looked similar to Onvo's flagship SUV, the L90, which will be launched in the third quarter.

L80 is a large five-seat SUV targeting the family car market, built on Nio's NT 3.0 platform, according to a report by Chinese automotive media outlet Auto Home today.

The vehicle's design language resembles that of L90, with both models expected to feature nearly identical front and rear lights, the report noted.

L80 is expected to offer single-motor and dual-motor options, with the single-motor version potentially delivering a maximum power output of 340 kW and the dual-motor version 440 kW, matching L90's motors, the report said.

In late February, several spy photos of Onvo's new model sparked widespread discussion. At the time, some domestic media reported that the model could be L80. However, subsequent information released by Onvo indicated that the model was L90.

Onvo L90 made its official debut on the first day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show on April 23, showcasing its spacious frunk and other storage compartments. The SUV is scheduled to launch in the third quarter.

Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li said at the time that Onvo L80 would be launched in the fourth quarter.

Onvo launched its first model, L60, on September 19, 2024, with deliveries beginning on September 28.

L60 targets the mass market, though its pricing remains in the mid-to-high-end range, starting at RMB 206,900 ($28,790).

Nio aims for Onvo's three models to achieve monthly sales of 25,000 units in the fourth quarter, Li said during an earnings call on June 3.

Nio Inc delivered 23,231 vehicles in May, including 13,270 from the Nio main brand, 6,281 from Onvo, and 3,680 from Firefly.

The third-generation Nio ES8 will be unveiled in the fourth quarter, and Onvo's third model, the L80, will be launched in the fourth quarter, William Li said.
