(NYSE: NIO) sub-brand Onvo has unveiled its flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle), the L90, which will go on sale later this year.

Onvo showcased the model today on the first day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show, emphasizing the highly integrated components that allow for more storage space.

The Onvo L90 measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,786 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.

The three-row SUV can carry seven standard 20-inch suitcases in the trunk when seated with six people, and the frunk can carry two 20-inch suitcases as well as a slightly smaller suitcase.

The Onvo L90's frunk has 240 liters of storage space, which Onvo's head of product Eric Yu said is the largest of any model currently available in China.

The frunk supports one-touch opening and closing, as well as opening with two consecutive finger taps.

The storage space benefits from a higher level of integration with Nio's own thermal management module, with Yu saying 49 components are integrated.

The official launch of the Onvo L90 is not yet known, and Nio management previously said this would be in the third quarter.

The L90 is Onvo's second model after the L60 mid-size SUV, and will be the first model launched after Shen Fei replaced Alan Ai as president of the Nio sub-brand.

Earlier today, Nio founder, chairman and CEO William Li said at a media briefing for Nio and another sub-brand, Firefly, that Onvo's third model, the L80, will be launched in the fourth quarter.

The Onvo L90 is powered by motors produced by Nio's motor division, XPT, with single and dual motor options, according to a previous regulatory filing.

Like Onvo's first model, the L60, the L90's battery is available in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell and lithium ternary options from suppliers including BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), CATL (SHE: 300750), and CALB.

Earlier this month, Shen said in a Weibo post that the Onvo L90 will come standard with a battery pack with a capacity of 85 kW, unlike the Onvo L60, which comes standard with a battery pack with a capacity of 60 kWh.

The third-generation Nio ES8 will be unveiled in the fourth quarter, and Onvo's third model, the L80, will be launched in the fourth quarter, William Li said.
