William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), has unveiled more about the company's product roadmap for this year, providing more visibility.
The third-generation Nio ES8 will be unveiled in the fourth quarter, and Onvo's third model, the L80, will be launched in the fourth quarter, Li said today on the first day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show.
The ES8 is the Nio brand's flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle) and the L80 will also be an SUV.
Nio Inc will have nine models in 2025, with new launches in each quarter for the rest of this year, Li said today, repeating what he had previously mentioned.
The nine models include the Nio ET9 flagship sedan, which began deliveries late last month, the Firefly, which went on sale earlier this month. Onvo's second model, the L90 flagship SUV, will soon be unveiled, and there will be facelifts for Nio's ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6 and EC6.
The Nio brand currently has nine models -- ET9, ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, ET5 Touring.
The ES8 is Nio's first production model, the first generation of which was released on December 16, 2017, at Nio Day 2017
The second generation ES8 was launched at Nio Day 2022 on December 24, 2022, transitioning to the NT 2.0 platform.
Onvo launched its first model, the L60, on September 19, 2024, with deliveries of the five-seat mid-size SUV beginning on September 28.
In an earnings call last November 20, Li said Onvo would launch two family SUVs in 2025 -- a mid-to-large-size 6/7-seat SUV, and a big five-seat SUV.
