Nio's (NYSE: NIO) ET5 sedan will make its UK debut by participating in the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.

"Dear UK Fans, we are going to the iconic @fosgoodwood Goodwood Festival of Speed with Nio ET5 making its debut!" Afonso, Evangelist at Nio, tweeted on Friday.

"We are delighted for ET5 to make its UK debut, here at Goodwood, a location that holds a special place in the story of our growing brand," said Matt Galvin, Nio UK's managing director, according to the tweet.

The Nio ET5 was launched at the Nio Day 2021 event on December 18, 2021, with deliveries in China starting on September 30, 2022.

In October 2022, Nio launched the ET5 in Europe, with deliveries of the sedan there beginning on March 31.

Born in 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the world's most prestigious motorsport festival, usually held in the British town of Goodwood in June and July each year.

This year's event will take place from July 13 to July 16, where a large number of models will be present.

BMW Group previously said it will showcase models including the BMW i5, i7 and M3 Touring at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023.

The MG electric roadster Cyberster, which was previously unveiled at the Shanghai auto show in April, will also be at the event.

Nio is the only Chinese electric vehicle startup so far to have announced plans to participate in the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023, as the company continues to advance its efforts in overseas markets.

Nio is bringing its entire service system from China to Europe, including a direct sales system and signature battery swap stations.

On July 7, Nio opened a new battery swap station in Sweden, its fifth in the country and 19th in Europe.

The company also has eight charging stations in Europe, and its charging map in Europe has access to 500,000 third-party charging piles.
