Denza officially launched the second-generation Denza D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) on Monday, updating the most important model for the BYD premium sub-brand and one of the most popular new-energy MPVs in the Chinese market.
Starting at 359,800 yuan ($52,730), the updated Denza D9 is equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and the latest flash-charging technology, enabling ultra-fast energy replenishment.
The MPV continues to offer pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains with six different configurations. Its deliveries are expected to begin in mid-May.
Its three BEV variants are priced at 369,800 yuan, 409,800 yuan, and 469,800 yuan, respectively, while the three PHEV variants start at 359,800 yuan, 399,800 yuan, and 459,800 yuan.
Measuring 5,250 millimeters in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,900 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, the MPV maintains a massive physical presence on the road.

Its plug-in hybrid version features a 115-kilowatt (154 hp) 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, paired with a 200 kW front motor and a 45 kW rear motor. The powertrain allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.3 seconds.
The second-generation Denza D9 PHEV is equipped with a 66.5-kilowatt-hour second-generation Blade Battery, providing a pure electric range of 401 kilometers. With a full tank and a full charge, its combined range reaches up to 1,521 kilometers.
The pure electric version is powered by a motor with a maximum output of 340 kW, while the four-wheel-drive variant adds a rear motor with a peak power of 70 kW.
The updated Denza D9 BEV offers two long-distance driving range options of 750 kilometers and 800 kilometers.
Both powertrains utilize a breakthrough flash-charging technology, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes.
Inside the spacious cabin, the vehicle features up to 10 independent screens, including a 15.6-inch central display and multiple second-row entertainment screens.
The overall driving and riding experience is further enhanced by BYD's latest DiSus-C suspension system and the God's Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system, the latter of which is equipped with three high-precision LiDARs.
