Dongfeng Motor's premium electric brand Voyah delivered 408 units of the Voyah FREE, one of Li Auto's Li ONE competitors, in August, its first delivery month.

Voyah is on track to become the fastest EV brand to reach 10,000 sales, the company said.

Voyah announced Friday that it will enter overseas markets, but did not reveal which country it intends to enter first.

Its competitors include the Li ONE, Nio ES6, and Tesla Model Y.

Voyah has posted several positions with annual salaries exceeding RMB 600,000 ($92,881). By comparison, the average annual salary in Beijing in 2020 was RMB 77,560, official data showed.

Dongfeng Motor is the latest in a long line of traditional Chinese car companies to set up a separate company to run their electric vehicle business.

The company said the Voyah FREE uses an engine that delivers a quiet, smooth experience, which is what makes the new extended-range technology, perhaps alluding to its superior technology to the Li ONE.

The model is available in an all-electric version as well as a version with extended-range technology similar to the Li ONE.

The Voyah FREE, a Li ONE competitor, became available for pre-order on March 31, priced at RMB 313,600 ($47,700) for the extended-range version and RMB 333,600 for the pure electric version.
