Baillie Gifford increased its holdings in Nio by 50,039 shares, Tesla by 18.47 million shares and cut its position in Li Auto by half during the third quarter.

Soros Fund Management increased its bet on Nio in the second quarter, albeit not through the more common stocks, after first buying in the first quarter.

Renaissance increased its stake in Nio by 228.96 percent to 17,768,900 shares and Xpeng by 256.81 percent to 3,620,600 shares in the second quarter.

Bridgewater held $120 million worth of Nio shares at the end of the second quarter, an increase of $8 million from $112 million at the end of the first quarter.

Baillie Gifford increased its position in Nio by 8.99 percent during the second quarter, while decreasing its positions in Tesla and Li Auto by 4.16 percent and 2.79 percent, respectively.

BYD fell 10.89 percent in early trading in Hong Kong and 7.3 percent for shares traded in Shenzhen.

The fund added to its holdings in Chinese EV makers including BYD and Xpeng in March and April after "excessive drops".

Tiger Global increased its stake in Xpeng by 120.33 percent and in Li Auto by 167.35 percent in the first quarter. The fund does not own any shares of Nio.

At the end of the fourth quarter last year, it held 350,000 shares of Nio worth $11,088,000 and 666,500 shares of Xpeng worth $33,545,000.
