Arcfox, the electric car brand of Chinese automaker BAIC Group, is aiming to deliver 1,000 units of Arcfox α-S with 'Huawei Inside' this year, but said it is challenging.

Apollo, the self-driving arm of Chinese tech giant Baidu, has unveiled its latest Robotaxi, setting the stage for large-scale commercialization of the business at relatively low costs.

Apollo and Arcfox will announce their partnership on June 17 to "usher in a new era of shared self-driving," according to the former's Weibo.

Arcfox said that the Arcfox α-S equipped with the Huawei Inside solution will be equipped with HarmonyOS, making it the first vehicle to feature the system.

The starting price for this version is RMB 388,900 and the premium version is priced at RMB 429,900. They are expected to be delivered in November and December this year.

Huawei is in close contact with BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology to seek a stake in the latter's EV brand Arcfox, nbd.com.cn said on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Arcfox unveiled the Arcfox α-S last month, with the higher-spec version featuring the Huawei Inside solution. Now, according to the latest report, orders for this model have exceeded 1,000 units in only one month.

In response to reports earlier today that Huawei is seeking to take control of Arcfox of BAIC's BluePark New Energy and Chongqing Sokon’s Jinkang New Energy, Huawei said "there is no such matter."

Arcfox, the BAIC-owned EV brand that recently showcased Huawei's amazing autonomous driving capabilities, saw its first exclusive Supercharger station go into operation in Beijing.

Two days after Huawei debuted its amazing autonomous driving technology, a model equipped with the technology was launched in China.
