BMW plans to use round cells in models based on the Neue Klasse electric vehicle platform to be released in 2025, which is expected to bring down costs by 30 percent.

CATL will supply Solaris' buses with lithium iron phosphate batteries using CTP (cell to pack) technology.

"The trend is already happening," said Ni Jun, CATL's chief manufacturing officer.

CATL is now seeking more than RMB 510 million in damages from CALB, a 176 percent increase from the previous RMB 185 million.

The certification will be required for all power battery systems exported to ECE member states from September 1, 2023.

Arun Plus and CATL will supply battery products to Horizon Plus, the former's joint venture with Foxconn, and other EV brands.

BYD's share reached 32.2 percent in April, narrowing the gap to 6.1 percentage points from CATL's 38.3 percent share.

CATL's Shanghai plant, located in Shanghai Lingang, near Tesla's factory, resumed production on April 18.

CATL is in the final stages of reviewing locations for EV battery production in the US, Reuters reported.

Looking at future capacity demand and the company's current capacity profile, it has a capacity gap of no less than 390 GWh by 2025, CATL said.
