BYD has entered into a strategic partnership with Ecuadorian car dealership group Andor, which will establish six dealer stores in the next six months and plans to expand to 12 in 2024.

Since this week, the Model Y with BYD battery has been produced at Tesla's Gigafactory in Grünheide, Germany, according to a German media report.

CATL's battery is expected to maintain its No. 1 position as it is in high demand in passenger cars such as the Tesla Model 3, Model Y, SAIC Mulan, and the Chinese commercial vehicle market, according to SNE Research.

BYD has offered some discounts on the Seal, Song Plus, Yuan Plus and Dolphin in the price war in the Chinese auto industry over the past two months.

BYD sold 104,364 passenger BEVs in April, up 1.65 percent from March, and 105,103 PHEVs, up 1.63 percent from March.

BYD reported revenue of RMB 120.17 billion in the first quarter, up 79.83 percent year-on-year, although it was 23.15 percent lower than in the fourth quarter of last year.

The dual-currency counter model will provide BYD shareholders and potential investors with a new trading currency option that could further enhance the liquidity of its shares, BYD said.

BYD has officially launched the Seagull with a starting price of just RMB 73,800, after starting pre-sales of the Yangwang U8, which costs over RMB 1 million, last week.

Denza has yet to announce the price of the N7, though it is expected to target the RMB 400,000 market.

BYD Seagull was unveiled and started pre-sale on April 18 with a pre-sale starting price of RMB 78,800 and received more than 10,000 orders in 24 hours.
