Sunwoda EVB is seeking a new round of financing estimated at more than RMB 3 billion ($448 million), valuing it at RMB 20 billion, according to local media.

Gotion's power cell production capacity in China is expected to reach 100 GWh by the end of this year.

The semi-solid-state battery has an energy density of 360Wh/kg, much higher than the 210Wh/kg of conventional ternary lithium batteries, according to a Gotion executive.

The battery has 13 percent to 25 percent higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion batteries, and can be fully charged in 20 minutes.

The partnership will help accelerate the further commercialization of semi-solid-state batteries and solid-state batteries, WeLion said in a statement today.

A month ago, CATL also acquired exploration rights in Yifeng county, Jiangxi province, where Gotion was awarded the rights.

The project has a planned capacity of 12 GWh, with a construction cycle of about 24 months, and is expected to start trial production by the end of 2023.

Eve Energy plans to invest RMB 3 billion ($444 million) in a 10 GWh power battery project in Yunnan.

The first phase of CALB's Wuhan base was signed on May 31 last year, with a planned capacity of 20 GWh, and the main plant was topped out in March.

An Argentine state-owned company will provide Gotion with prospecting and mining rights to explore a potential lithium resource of about 17,000 hectares.
