  • The mid-size SUV will officially launch and begin deliveries on June 11, aiming to boost Onvo's sales in a fiercely competitive market.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) sub-brand Onvo is continuing its rapid pace of product updates, officially kicking off pre-sales for the updated Onvo L60 SUV (sport utility vehicle) in China on Friday.

The mid-size SUV debuted on the first day of the 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show (Shenzhen Auto Show). Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li announced that the new L60 will officially launch on June 11, with deliveries starting on the same day.

To attract early buyers, Onvo introduced a pre-sales promotion. Consumers who pay a deposit of 1,000 yuan ($150) now will receive a 3,000 yuan deduction when purchasing the vehicle.

Onvo stores across China have already begun static displays of the model, and plan to offer test drives starting June 6 in preparation for the upcoming launch and deliveries.

The pre-sales price of the Onvo L60 was not disclosed. Its official launch price will likely remain unchanged, echoing Nio Inc's previous update strategy for other models.

The L60's last major update was on September 19, 2025, when its starting price, including the 60-kWh standard-range battery pack, remained at 206,900 yuan.

Under the BaaS (battery as a service) program, its starting price is 149,900 yuan, with monthly battery rental fees starting at 599 yuan.

The latest update underscores Nio's determination to maintain its technological edge in China's fiercely competitive EV market. The revamped Onvo L60 features significant hardware and software upgrades.

The revamped L60 offers a new-generation 85-kWh ternary lithium battery pack, enabling the model to achieve a maximum CLTC range of 740 kilometers and an energy consumption as low as 11.9 kWh per 100 kilometers, Nio said.

Nio did not mention whether the 85-kWh battery pack will come as standard. The older L60 comes standard with a 60-kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 555 kilometers, and allows users to flexibly upgrade to the 85-kWh pack through the battery swap service.

The updated Onvo L60 introduces Nio's in-house developed 5-nanometer automotive-grade smart driving chip, the Shenji NX9031, for the first time. Meanwhile, the updated L60 adds versions equipped with a LiDAR sensor.

These hardware upgrades will be paired with the latest version of the Nio World Model (NWM), which is expected to bring drivers an industry-leading smart assisted driving experience and adds a new campus navigation feature.

In terms of vehicle architecture, the new L60 is equipped with Nio's SkyOS full-vehicle operating system. It also utilizes a 900-volt high-voltage architecture, improving the vehicle's energy efficiency and response performance.

For exterior design, the updated L60 adds an exclusive "Interstellar Grey" color and features smart assisted driving indicator lights on the exterior rearview mirrors.

Interior and comfort configurations have also been upgraded. The cabin features Nappa leather and comes standard with the same microfiber suede headliner used in Nio-brand models.

To meet the needs of family users, the new car adds a 17.3-inch 3K entertainment screen in the rear. It is also equipped with a 6-liter smart hot and cold fridge that supports multiple exclusive temperature control modes.

In terms of storage space, this coupe SUV has a trunk capacity of 763 liters, featuring a 139-liter sunken storage compartment.

These configuration upgrades align with the strategy of the recently launched 2026 L90 and the all-new L80. Onvo is attempting to attract family users by offering richer smart features.

The Onvo L60 originally launched in September 2024, and this latest revamp is expected to help Onvo maintain its sales momentum in the second half of this year.

In April of this year, Onvo delivered a total of 5,352 vehicles, up 21.64% from the same period last year, but down 22.18% from March.
