BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has reached 100,000 deliveries of the Bao 5, marking a milestone for the off-road sport utility vehicle (SUV).
The 100,000th Bao 5 was delivered on October 30, with the SUV's average transaction price standing at RMB 271,400 ($38,160) to date, Fang Cheng Bao announced today.
This implies the Bao 5 delivered at least 3,395 units in October, considering cumulative deliveries through September stood at 96,605 units.
In September, Bao 5 delivered 5,425 units, bringing January-September deliveries to 41,980 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The Bao 5 is Fang Cheng Bao's first model, initially launched on November 9, 2023, with deliveries commencing on November 23.
On February 21 this year, Fang Cheng Bao rolled out the updated Smart Driving Edition of the Bao 5. On October 20, the company launched the Long Range Edition of the Bao 5.
The Bao 5 is a five-seat SUV measuring 4,890 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
The currently available Long Range Edition Bao 5 offers four trim levels priced at RMB 269,800, RMB 279,800, RMB 294,800, and RMB 329,800 respectively.
All variants come standard with a 47.8-kWh blade battery pack based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, delivering a CLTC range of 210 kilometers. Their combined CLTC range with a full tank and fully charged battery reaches 1,310 kilometers.
The older Bao 5 Smart Driving Edition, still available, ranges from RMB 239,800 to RMB 329,800 with a CLTC range of 125 kilometers.
Fang Cheng Bao sold a record 24,121 units in September, surpassing the 20,000-unit threshold for the first time with a 344.87 percent year-on-year increase, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The Tai 3 and Tai 7 SUVs from the Tai series were the main sales drivers last month, with 8,902 and 8,128 units sold respectively. These models were launched in April and September of this year.
Another model in the Bao series, the Bao 8, sold 1,666 units in September.
