- The third-generation ES8 is expected to deliver over 10,000 units again this month, after seeing monthly deliveries exceed 10,000 for five consecutive months.
- Nio is banking on the continued success of the ES8 and the upcoming ES9 to navigate a challenging second quarter.

Nio Inc will see the 100,000th delivery of its third-generation ES8 this week, marking another significant milestone for the large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).
Yang Bo, head of user operations at Nio, revealed the information in a Weibo post on Monday. It comes after the company just completed the 90,000th delivery of the model on April 3.
This means that deliveries of the third-generation ES8 in April are expected to exceed 10,000 units once again.
The three-row pure electric SUV, officially launched in September 2025, has seen monthly deliveries surpass 10,000 for five consecutive months, including 16,255 units last month.
With a starting price of 406,800 yuan ($59,073), the model's commercial success has played a key role in driving Nio's recent financial turnaround.
In the first quarter of this year, the ES8 delivered a total of 45,184 new cars, contributing 54.14% of Nio Inc's total deliveries during the same period.
To maintain the sales momentum of this high-margin model, Nio extended its car-buying incentives in April. This includes retaining a limited-time purchase tax subsidy of 10,000 yuan.
The company also plans to launch a five-seat version of the third-generation ES8 in early July to attract more potential buyers. The currently available ES8 only offers six- and seven-seat options.
While boosting short-term sales, Nio is preparing to enter an intensive new product launch phase. Its founder, chairman and CEO William Li warned that the company faces external pressure in the second quarter, along with the broader industry.
To break through the industry headwinds, Nio is pinning its hopes on the upcoming new flagship SUV model ES9, as well as the new SUV L80 from its sub-brand Onvo.
The Nio ES9 began pre-sales on April 9 with a starting price of 528,000 yuan, higher than the ES8.
Li expects that as the new car effect of the ES9 and the Onvo L80 emerges, Nio's deliveries in May and June will see a steady increase.
The launch date for the Onvo L80 has not yet been announced. Onvo will launch the updated version of the existing L90 SUV on April 21.
