BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) continues to bring its models to more countries.

The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant announced today that it recently launched the Seal battery electric vehicle (BEV) in Colombia, its second Ocean series model to be offered in the country after launching the Dolphin there in December 2022.

Built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0, the Seal is BYD's first model based on CTB (cell to body) technology and has a WLTC range of 520 km.

The car is equipped with the iTAC intelligent torque control system, resulting in enhanced handling. The model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The Seal was launched there by BYD in conjunction with its Colombian dealer partner, Motorisa, and the two have been working together since 2020.

Currently, BYD has seven new energy passenger car stores in Colombia, located in four cities -- Bogota, Medellin, Cali, and Pereira.

By the end of this year, BYD will add five more stores there, it said.

In December 2022, BYD and Motorisa launched the Dolphin, an all-electric compact car in Colombia, the first of its Ocean range to be offered in the country.

In October 21, 2022, BYD launched the Yuan Plus EV of its Dynasty family in Colombia. The model is known as the Atto 3 in most overseas markets.
