NIO's (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866, SGX: NIO) battery swap station network has completed coverage of a major highway running north to south in China, as the company continues to advance its energy replenishment infrastructure.

NIO's battery swap station network achieved coverage of the G15 Shenyang-Haikou Highway on June 22, the company announced today as it put into operation a station at a highway service area in Yancheng city, Jiangsu province.

The 3,710-kilometer highway connects numerous coastal cities in China and is one of the most important highways running north to south.

NIO has installed 36 battery swap stations along the highway, one every 115 kilometers on average.

With the latest development, NIO's battery swap network has completed its previously promised coverage of five vertical and three horizontal highways and four metropolitan areas in China.

These include the G1 Beijing-Harbin Highway, G2 Beijing-Shanghai Highway, G4 Beijing-Hong Kong and Macau Highway, G5 Beijing-Kunming Highway, G15 Shenyang-Haikou Highway, G30 Lianyungang-Horgos Highway, G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Highway, and G60 Shanghai-Kunming Highway.

The four metropolitan areas are Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area, Yangtze River Delta Metropolitan Area, Greater Bay Area Metropolitan Area, and Chengdu-Chongqing Metropolitan Area.

As of June 22, NIO has 985 battery swap stations in China, 252 of which are located along highways.

The company also has 861 supercharging stations, 738 destination charging stations, and access to more than 510,000 third-party charging piles, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.
