Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker (NYSE: NIO) said today that its next Nio Day event will be held in Chengdu on January 9, 2021.

Nio Day is Nio's annual owners' gathering, and the company didn't disclose details of the event, but it is expected to unveil the Nio EE7 flagship sedan.

Nio Day 2020 will be held at Wuliangye's Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center, and Nio said that this year will be a special edition of Nio Day for New Year's Eve, taking into account the venue schedule and other factors.

Wuliangye Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center is located in Chengdu's High-Tech District, with a total construction area of about 99,000 square meters, consisting of two underground and five above-ground floors, and an audience capacity of up to 12,000 people.

It is currently the largest top-level indoor performance venue in southwest China, with a modern and technological appearance and advanced facilities and functions.

Nio's fourth new car, the Nio EE7 instead of the previously rumored Nio ET7, could be mass-produced in the fourth quarter of next year at the JAC Nio plant in central China's Anhui Province.

Junlian Zhixing, a subsidiary of Ningbo Joyson Electronic, was awarded a contract last month for the Nio 5G-V2X platform project, worth approximately $660 million, with products including V2X 5G-TBOX and 5G-VBOX.

These products will be available starting December 2021 and will be deployed on the Nio EE7, but also on the ES6, ES8, and EC6 models.

This is indicative of Nio's next product plan: the Nio EE7 may be Nio's fourth model.

The EE7 is Nio's flagship sedan, which features a coupe design similar to the Audi A7.

The EE7 will likely be built on the second-generation platform currently under development, still using a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive system, and will be compatible with the L4 driver assistance system.
