BYD will supply its "blade battery" to Tesla in the second quarter of next year, local Chinese media cls.cn said Thursday, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter.

Tesla announced Wednesday the opening of a Supercharger route in northwest China connecting several well-known destinations.

After it raised the prices of the Model S Long Range and Model X Long Range in China and the United States last month, Tesla has raised their prices again.

If this is true, it means Tesla is changing its sales model, which has been copied by many other car companies and moving back to a more traditional approach.

To date, Tesla has more than 6,900 Superchargers in the Chinese mainland, and it also has more than 700 destination charging stations, offering more than 1,700 destination charging piles, covering more than 320 cities in China.

This means the acceleration of the replacement of new energy star models to the broader fuel car market, accelerating the world's transition to new energy vehicles.

Effective immediately, the starting price of the Model 3 Standard Range version in China after subsidies has been reduced by 15,000 yuan ($2,323) to 235,900 yuan, Tesla announced Friday.

Tesla has completed the transition of its Shanghai Gigafactory as its main vehicle export center, the company said in a Weibo post on Tuesday.

The update changes the minimum speed to trigger the AEB feature from 8km/h to 5km/h.

India currently charges a 100 percent tariff on cars over $40,000, while Tesla's US website shows that only the Model 3 Standard Range Plus is priced below that figure.
