BYD has never told the media that it will supply "blade batteries" to Tesla, nor has it said that the "blade batteries" will be used in the Model Y, ifeng.com quoted the company as saying on Wednesday.

The MIIT released the forty-fifth batch of new energy vehicle models exempted from vehicle purchase tax, and the long-range version of Tesla Model Y is listed, with an NEDC range of 640 km.

Tesla delivered 8,621 locally made vehicles in China in July, down 69 percent from June, according to data released Tuesday by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Media reports that BYD will supply "blade battery" to Tesla are true, and the first model could be the Model Y, Chinese technology website mydrivers.com said Friday, citing an unnamed BYD insider.

Tesla announced Wednesday the opening of a Supercharger route in northwest China connecting several well-known destinations.

After it raised the prices of the Model S Long Range and Model X Long Range in China and the United States last month, Tesla has raised their prices again.

If this is true, it means Tesla is changing its sales model, which has been copied by many other car companies and moving back to a more traditional approach.
