Customers who ordered a rear-wheel-drive version of the Model 3 that had already been produced between January 1 and January 31 will receive an insurance subsidy of RMB 6,000 yuan. The amount is lower than last month's RMB 8,000.

As of now, the wait times in China for all versions of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are 2-6 weeks.

Model Y retail sales in China in November were up 89.26 percent from October, and Model 3 was up 587.51 percent.

Earlier today, Tesla raised the starting price of the Model Y Long Range in China by RMB 2,000, its fifth price hike in the country in the past month.

This is a continuation of Tesla's price hike last week, when it raised the prices of the long-range versions of the Model 3 and Model Y slightly on November 9 in China.

Tesla Model Y retail sales in China were down 36.39 percent in October from September, while Model 3 was up 9.33 percent.

Prices are going up because of rising costs, and if costs go down, prices could go down, a Tesla staff said.

The price of the Model 3 Long Range has been raised by RMB 1,500 in China, while the Model Y Long Range has gone up by RMB 2,500.

Tesla will raise the prices of the long-range versions of the Model 3 and Model Y in China on Thursday, November 9, local media quoted the company as saying.

Tesla's entry-level Model 3 now has a wait time of 2-6 weeks in China, down from 6-9 weeks previously.
