For the full year 2023, Model Y retail sales in China were up 44.74 percent year-on-year to 456,394 units, while Model 3 sales were up 18.33 percent year-on-year to 147,270 units.

Sales of 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y crossover rose significantly in China last month, while the Model 3 sedan was essentially flat.

Retail sales of the Model Y in China totaled 60,055 units in December, up 20.41 percent from 49,877 units in November and up 104.36 percent from 29,387 units in the same month last year, according to data from China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shared by local automotive media Yiche.

The crossover contributed 79.22 percent of Tesla's December retail sales of 75,805 units in China.

For the full year 2023, Model Y retail sales in China were 456,394 units, up 44.74 percent year-on-year, data compiled by CnEVPost showed.

The Model 3 sold 15,750 units at retail in China in December, contributing 20.78 percent of Tesla's sales in the country last month.

The electric sedan's sales in China in December were up 25.61 percent from 12,539 units in the same month last year, and up 0.79 percent from 15,627 units in November.

For the full year of 2023, Model 3 retail sales in China were up 18.33 percent to 147,270 units.

Tesla sold 94,139 China-made vehicles in December, of which 18,334 were exported, CPCA data released earlier this month showed.

For the full year 2023, Tesla sold 947,742 China-made vehicles, up 33.32 percent year-on-year.

Of the China-made vehicles sold by Tesla in December, including exports, 62,158 were Model Y and 31,981 were Model 3, according to the CPCA.

China-made Model Y sales were up 73.87 percent year-on-year in December and up 6.37 percent from November.

For the full year 2023, China-made Model Y sold 624,569 units, up 37.24 percent year-on-year.

China-made Model 3 sales were up 59.54 percent year-on-year in December and up 33.26 percent from November.

For all of 2023, China-made Model 3 sold 323,173 units, up 26.35 percent year-on-year.

Of the 18,334 China-made vehicles exported by Tesla in December, 2,103 were Model Y, a decrease of 66.95 percent year-on-year and down 75.42 percent from November.

China-made Model 3 exported 16,231 units in December, up 116.21 percent year-on-year and up 93.87 percent from November.

For the full year 2023, China-made Model Y exported 168,175 units, up 20.32 percent year-on-year, and China-made Model 3 exported 175,903 units, up 33.95 percent year-on-year.
