Mustang Mach-E

Ford once had high hopes for the Mustang Mach-E in China, setting up a separate company to run the business. Now, the US carmaker is scaling back its ambitions in the business.

The Mustang Mach-E team will be integrated back into Ford China and the separate entity running the project will be written off in the future, according to local media.

Ford is clearing out Mustang Mach-E inventory, and Chinese consumers have until April 30 to take advantage of the discount.

Mustang Mach-E prices in China have been cut by as much as RMB 28,000 in response to price cuts by Tesla.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has sold 2,098 units in China so far since deliveries began in the country late last year.

Owners need to refer at least 5 friends to sign up as members on the Ford Mustang Mach-E app and refer 1 friend to complete their first test drive.

Ford began delivering Mustang Mach-E vehicles to customers in China at the end of December last year, and they have not performed anywhere near as well as the Tesla Model Y.

Ford Mustang Mach-E prices in China will be raised by RMB 7,000 yuan - 22,500 yuan ($3,530) on May 5.

Ford unveiled the Mustang Mach-E in China last April and made its first delivery on December 26.
