With a starting price of RMB 99,800 ($14,650), the Qin Plus DM-i 2023 is the first time BYD has made a model with its DM-i powertrain start at less than RMB 100,000.

Sales of BYD's main budget models fell less because they have accumulated relatively more orders, analysts said.

The BYD Han family sold 31,614 units in October, the Tang family 17,161 units and the BYD Seal 11,267 units.

BYD's flagship Han family of sedans sold 31,497 units in September, while Seal, seen as a strong rival to the Tesla Model 3, sold 7,473 units.

BYD's flagship Han family of sedans sold 26,003 units in August, while the flagship Tang family of SUVs sold 10,815 units.

BYD today unveiled the Qin PLUS at the Guangzhou Auto Show, which the company says is the world's first super-hybrid sedan with a range of more than 1,000 km on a single trip.

BYD will unveil the Qin Plus, which the company is calling a "fuel sedan disruptor," at the 18th Guangzhou Auto Show on November 20.

Chinese ride-sharing giant Didi will unveil a vehicle called the D1 on November 16, a poster released by the company today showed.
