The AITO M5 EV is available in two versions, targeting the market where the Tesla Model Y is located with a lower starting price of RMB 288,600 ($41,440).

The AITO M5 EV will be officially launched on September 6 at Huawei's fall launch event.

The AITO M7 is the second model of the AITO brand after the M5, and is one of the main competitors to Li Auto's Li ONE.

The only model currently being delivered by AITO is the AITO M5 SUV with extended-range technology, with a cumulative total of 25,545 units delivered since deliveries began in March.

Huawei's Richard Yu says extended-range technology is the most appropriate solution available right now; Great Wall Motor's Wey brand CEO executive disagrees.

The AITO M7 features extended-range technology similar to that used by Li Auto in its models, and its specifications and prices mean it will compete directly with the Li ONE.

AITO's only current model, the Wenjie M5, saw 10,685 new orders in June, it said.

The AITO Wenjie M7 is expected to be unveiled at Huawei's new product launch on July 4. Previously a Huawei executive said that deliveries are expected to begin at the end of July.

Since deliveries began in March, the cumulative number of AITO Wenjie M5 deliveries has reached 11,296 units.
