- A Nio executive revealed the upcoming milestone, implying ES8 monthly deliveries are on track to exceed 10,000 units again in May.
- The third-generation ES8 contributed 44% of Nio Inc's total deliveries in April.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) will welcome the 110,000th delivery of its all-new third-generation ES8 large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) this week, a milestone that highlights the model's sustained sales momentum in China's highly competitive auto market.
Yang Bo, Nio's head of user operations, teased the upcoming milestone in a Weibo post on Monday. He thanked users for their support and said the team will continue to push forward.
The company just delivered the 100,000th third-generation ES8 on April 23 on the eve of the Beijing Auto Show. It took the premium model only 215 days to reach the 100,000-unit milestone since deliveries began.
The impending milestone means that the third-generation ES8's monthly deliveries are poised to exceed 10,000 units once again in May.
The commercial success of the updated ES8 has played a key role in driving Nio Inc's recent financial turnaround, helping the company achieve its first-ever quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Nio will report its unaudited first-quarter financial results before the US markets open on May 21. The market will closely watch the company's financial performance during the traditionally slow first quarter for the Chinese auto market.
The company delivered 83,465 vehicles in the first quarter, beating the upper end of its guidance range of 80,000 to 83,000 units.
The ES8 delivered 45,185 units in the first quarter, contributing 54.14% of Nio Inc's deliveries during the same period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The model starts at 406,800 yuan ($59,740), making it one of the most expensive models from local Chinese automakers.
The three-row SUV delivered a total of 13,028 new vehicles in April, accounting for a massive 44.38% share of Nio's total deliveries for the month, data compiled by CnEVPost showed.
Strong demand has kept the ES8 at the top of the retail sales charts in China's large SUV market for the fifth consecutive month. To maintain the appeal of this high-margin model, Nio extended purchase incentives in May, including zero-down-payment and interest-free financing.
Nio is relying on intensive new product launches to further boost overall sales. Sub-brand Onvo just kicked off nationwide deliveries of the L80 large five-seat SUV.
Nio founder and CEO William Li previously expected that the company's deliveries would see a steady rebound in May and June with the launch of strategic models including the new flagship SUV Nio ES9 and the Onvo L80.
The Nio ES9 began pre-sales on April 9 and will be officially launched on May 27. Its pre-sales starting price, including the battery pack, is 528,000 yuan.
