The large luxury SUV (sport utility vehicle) began pre-sales on April 7, with a pre-sales price range set between 450,000 yuan ($66,080) and 500,000 yuan.

The Denza N9 flash charging edition is equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, boasting a battery capacity of over 75 kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Under the CLTC standard, the hybrid model achieves a pure electric range of 420 kilometers.

The vehicle features BYD's latest flash charging technology, which allows it to be fully charged in just 9 minutes.

Even in extreme winter conditions of minus 30 degrees Celsius, its charging time will only increase by 3 minutes, the brand said previously.

The flagship SUV comes standard with BYD's God's Eye 5.0 advanced smart driving assistance system, adding reinforcement learning capabilities on top of its end-to-end technology.

It also comes standard with the e3 technology, supporting unique vehicle control features including intelligent crab walk and compass turn.

Denza was originally established in 2010 as a 50-50 joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz.

BYD increased its stake to 90% in 2022, and subsequently acquired the remaining 10% equity held by Mercedes-Benz in September 2024.

Denza is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD, enabling the parent company to better integrate internal resources and fully empower the brand with its technological advantages.

Denza sold 157,134 vehicles in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.67 percent, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In the January-April period of this year, Denza sold 29,886 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 38.05 percent.
