Xpeng's flying car unit, Aridge, drew large crowds at the Beijing Auto Show, with its highly anticipated Land Aircraft Carrier modular flying car surpassing 90 orders on Sunday.

Xpeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng shared the figure on Weibo on Sunday, which marked the third day of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.

Visitors at the Xpeng booth experienced virtual reality flights and watched demonstrations of the aircraft separating from its parent vehicle.

Although mass production has not yet begun, Xpeng is already accepting customer orders for the modular flying car.

The product has accumulated 7,000 pre-orders so far, He said during a media briefing on April 24, the opening day of the Auto Show.

The flying car will be priced under 2 million yuan ($292,850), and the company plans to officially launch mass production and deliveries within 2026, Aridge executives previously said.

The Land Aircraft Carrier consists of a ground-based parent vehicle and a two-seater aircraft. The parent vehicle utilizes an 800-volt high-voltage extended-range platform, offering a combined range of over 1,000 kilometers.

The parent vehicle can charge the aircraft while driving or parked, supporting five to six flights. Drivers in China only need a standard Class C driver's license to operate the vehicle on the ground.

The company is seeking to roll out the product, which has been in development for 13 years, globally and is currently in talks with markets including the Middle East, Indonesia, and Malaysia, He said during a media event at the Auto Show.

He added that the company has already begun developing a second-generation mass-producible flying car. The new generation will aim to meet the demands of overseas markets such as Europe and the US, as well as the domestic Chinese market.

Aridge is steadily advancing its mass production goals, having completed the roll-out of its pilot production batch at its Guangzhou factory in November 2025. At full capacity, the assembly line can produce one aircraft every 30 minutes.

CnEVPost visited the factory in Guangzhou ahead of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, where the company is assembling flying cars using methods similar to traditional automotive assembly lines.

The flying car company, which rebranded to Aridge from Xpeng Aeroht in October 2025, just completed a new equity financing round of nearly $200 million last month.

The company is currently actively preparing for an initial public offering in Hong Kong, according to previously media reports.

Aridge begins introducing its modular flying car's carrier vehicle and unveils three exterior colors.
