Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has seen cumulative deliveries of the Li L7 pass 300,000 units, 26 months after the SUV (sport utility vehicle) was launched.
The automaker announced the milestone for its five-seat extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) model on Weibo today.
Li Auto currently sells the L-series EREVs -- Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, Li L9 -- as well as the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
It launched the updated Li Mega on April 23 and the updated L-series EREVs on May 8. Deliveries of the updated L-series began yesterday, and deliveries of the updated Li Mega are set to begin later this month.
The Li L7 was initially launched on February 8, 2023, and the 2025 model currently on sale has a starting price of RMB 301,800 ($41,700).
The model saw deliveries reach 100,000 units on November 7, 2023, and 200,000 units on July 8, 2024.
The Li L7 was a model that was almost canceled during development, Li Xiang, founder, chairman, and CEO of Li Auto, said on June 18, 2023, on Weibo.
Li said at the time that he had hoped to axe the model in September 2022, but several other executives stopped him.
Li Auto delivered 33,939 vehicles in April, up 31.61 percent from 25,787 a year ago but down 7.46 percent from 36,674 in March.
So far this year, Li Auto has delivered 126,803 vehicles, up 19.41 percent from the same period last year.
A breakdown of Li Auto model deliveries in April is currently unavailable.
In March, the Li L7 delivered 8,707 units, contributing 23.74 percent of Li Auto monthly deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The Li L6 contributed 46.89 percent of Li Auto deliveries in March, the Li L8 contributed 14.38 percent, and the Li L9 contributed 12.49 percent.
